Regeneration by Pat Barker (1991). It is a World War I novel exploring the psychological trauma of soldiers, particularly Siegfried Sassoon’s protest against the war and his treatment at Craiglockhart War Hospital. The novel delves into themes of trauma, healing, and the ethics of psychiatry, highlighting the birth of modern psychological treatment and the devastating human cost of war.
